What is Public Employment Service Office(PESO)?

A multi-employment service facility or entity that does not charge fees is created within local government units (LGUs) in association with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under Republic Act 8759 or PESO Act of 1999 as revised by R.A. 10691. Its purpose is to ensure that employment services are made available in a timely manner and that adequate information about labor and other DOLE programs are provided as needed.

In recognition of the need to have an employment facilitation office to address the employment-related concerns of the Pangasinenses, the office was created by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan under Resolution No. 136, Series of 1992 and was named Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO). However, in order to make it more convenient to agencies, job applicants, and other clients who may be interested, the office of Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) was changed to Pangasinan Public Employment Service Office (Pangasinan PESO) in compliance with R.A. 8759 or PESO Act of 1999 as amended by R.A. 10691. Currently, Pangasinan PESO continues to perform its mandate and consistently strives to excel in its other employment and manpower development initiatives.
